"The only source of knowledge is experience" Albert Einstein
My love for photography career began at age 16, while attending high school in Hawaii, working for a photographic retail store called Kihei Camera learning about the actual photography equipment, developing film, paper from B&W to in the darkroom, to processing C41 color negatives, to include customer-client relations, services, and sales for almost 3 years in Maui, Hawaii. My boss always said that I worked hard, with passion, vision, intention, and artistry. I loved every moment of it and why I enjoyed meeting and serving all clients. But after finish high school & landing on my uncle doorsteps in Beverly Hills like fresh prince of Bel-Air in Los Angeles, California where I quickly learned that everybody in LA was a model, actor & photographer & filmmaker. This is where my uncle taught me the most incredible and life lesson that “not all photographers where the same, only the most talented and experienced one where the bread makers” I quickly honed in by learning and mastering the craft in capturing cinematic & film photography and understanding both studio and ambient lighting, by adding the proper strobes for location photography to create those special effects, and well-lit images while working for a photography store in Santa Monica and by continuously assisting as an apprentice with the best well known fashion and celebrity photographers. I also continue learning at workshops and at trade shows from all of the past and current mentors.
In 1985 I took my craft to South Carolina, first in Myrtle Beach, then Charleston, SC which I have called home for the last 35 years! My passion for the art of photography began here in our Holy City of Charleston, SC in 1994 with a small retail photography shop located on King Street called King Street Photo shortly expending and creating King Street Photo Weddings by capturing over 500 weddings. At the same time during the week, capturing over 125 corporate events for many Fortune 500 companies, and why I have expanded this corporate photography and videography services company for the private sector of all corporate events.
